In our 2.0 release, we’ve focused on enhancing Pixotope’s visual effects capabilities so you can develop the full extent of your virtual production’s creative ideas with stunning and engaging visual content.
We have been busy working magic to improve the Engine support and compositing features to easily and seamlessly integrate live and virtual elements, including a new media video component that works in WYSIWYG and supports ray tracing.
Keying is a vital area in any form of VFX, so we’ve focused our efforts on making keying in Pixotope 2.0 as simple and seamless as possible. We’ve extended keying support across all inputs in Pixotope 2.0: whether it’s a camera, media input, network (NDI), or file, you can now add a keyer to any input. There are also now multiple keyers, with a second keyer model and improved algorithms.
You now have the ability to not just key and fill, but to select and output custom buffers. Further improvements include shadows, which can now be projected onto the VS comp plane; a new Light Catcher working with global illumination; and a new Light / Reflection / Shadow Catcher using a common mesh. Feathering capabilities have also been augmented with per plane feathering control, plus the ability to achieve complex feathering with material tuning. Pixotope 2.0 also provides improved XR auto-frustum mode and DLSS integration into XR.
Pixotope 2.0 gives you full access to Unreal Engine 4.27, which provides an amazing array of new functionality and enhancements, such as rendering enhancements in Ray Tracing and Hair and Fur.
